Happy 2019 from Jack Burrito

Dear amigos,

We’d like to thank you all for your support throughout 2018. 

The last four months in particular have been the most successful since our opening in October 2017. 

We really enjoyed seeing new faces as well as many returning customers. 

A big GRACIAS to the bustling Chester community. We enjoy being part of it every day as an independent restaurant! 

And a special shout out to the local #vegan community, that has been so supportive of our large plant-based menu.

Yorkos: Jack Burrito's exclusive Yorkshire pudding based tacos

Yorkos - Yorkshire Pudding Tacos

At Jack Burrito, we created the craziest (and tastiest!) solution to your ‘Sunday Roast or Mexican food’ dilemma: YORKOS. They are Yorkshire pudding based tacos, stuffed with roasted veggies and served with a good old pot of gravy.

You can choose between Mexican Spiced Beef Chilli, Pork Carnitas and Herb & Lime Marinated Pull Chicken. Or add some Mexican stuffing: how festive!

“I wanted to find a way to combine the essence of the traditional British Christmas dinner and Mexican street food,’ said executive chef Bethany Donkin. “What better than Yorkshire pudding based tacos?”

Not only have they been greatly appreciated by our amigos: they also ended up on the local news for Chester and Cheshire!

Jack Burrito - one year anniversary

It’s Jack Burrito’s one year anniversary, today!

A whole year has passed since the start of our mission: bring a delicious taste of South America to the walled city of Chester.

‘The opening of any restaurant presents its own unique challenges,’ said manager and executive chef Bethany Donkin. ‘Here at Jack Burrito we love to listen to what our customers have to say and adapt what we offer accordingly.

That brought about our extensive Vegan menu as the demand for high quality, tasty vegan food was something that we felt Chester lacked. It’s been a fun and fulfilling journey developing our plant based menu, it came with its own set of challenges, but we persevered and we are so proud of what we have accomplished here.

I couldn’t have done it without the support of my impeccable team and we hope to see you soon and for you to enjoy Jack Burrito as much as we do.’ 

Many burritos and unlimited tacos later, we are glad to be celebrating this exciting event with our favourite amigos. Today is a special day for multiple reasons: not only it’s Jack’s birthday, but it’s also Día de Muertos, the lively Mexican holiday dedicated to honouring the dead.
